About

Hi, I’m Hanami.

I’m a Java software engineer from the Philippines, now based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I’m also half Japanese, which explains the name. I’m usually traveling with my permanent +1 and an unhealthy number of notes.

I’ve always been the type of person who documents everything. Trip plans. Visa requirements. Transport options. Hotel comparisons. Tech fixes. Book thoughts. Random things I spent three hours researching because I needed an answer to a very specific question.

At some point, I realized I was already doing all this work anyway, so I figured I might as well publish it. If a note, guide, comparison, or rabbit hole I went down ends up helping someone else, even better.

You’ll find a mix of travel guides, tech notes, practical how-tos, book reviews, and whatever else happens to catch my interest. Most posts are based on personal experience, excessive research, or a combination of both.

This isn’t really a lifestyle blog, and it’s definitely not a travel influencer blog.

Think of it as my public notebook—a collection of things I’ve learned, figured out, broken, fixed, compared, planned, and documented along the way.

Welcome to my notes.
